Year 12 is the time when students begin to think about what they are going to do when they leave school.
For many of you that will mean university and a journey through the UCAS system which will allow you to apply for the courses of your choice at the universities of your choice.
Some of you will decide that university is not for you and you will be looking for employment.
Others will decide that university is not for you next year. You may be looking for gap year opportunities.
Another option explored by students is the art school option. Whatever you choose to do you will need to do a lot of research between the spring term of Year 12 and the end of the summer term.
It is important that you ask yourself the following:
- What do you want to do when you leave school?
- What qualifications do you need to enable you to get into this?
- If you want to go to university, name six places where you can study this subject.
- If you are going to seek employment, name at least four places where you could find job advertisements.
Some of you will find this easy and some will have more difficulty, but you will all need to do some thinking and some research if you are to make the right decisions for you.
This area of the website is designed to help you make the right decisions and to enable you to undertake the research that you need to do.
